As the social gaming tug of war between giants Zynga and Electronic Arts continues, Veteran EA Sports employee Steven Chiang joins Zynga to become president of their game studios. Zynga’s game offerings have always been based on the premise that games should be simple, straightforward, and easy to learn so that they appeal to the largest number of people and demographics that don’t normally engage in online gaming due to not being able to grasp some of the more advanced games like World of Warcraft or Sims.
EA Veteran Chiang has plenty of experience with creating games like the Madden NFL titles and should bring a welcome element of knowledge and insight as Zynga moves towards developing games that appeal not only to sunday morning gamers but also to hardcore console gamers as well who are used to playing in intricate, multi level 3d worlds.
