Playfish launched it’s newest addition to the social gaming world today with the release of Hotel City. The gameplay centers around, you guessed it, a managing a hotel. Players can customize and manage all the aspects of owning a real hotel, from the decorations of the room to the house keeping and maintenance.
Adding amenities like gyms and bars raises the “star” rating of your hotel, anywhere from 1 up to 5 stars. The animations, graphics and music all lend a hand to creating a fun and playful environment in which gamers can become engrossed in the customizing of their very own functioning hotel. Building off the recent viral success of Social City, Playfish seems to be trying to carve out their own niche in the online simulation gaming scene. It’s too early to tell whether gamers will love their Hotels as much as their farms in Farmville, but lately Playfish’s efforts in social gaming seem to be improving with time and practice.
